Hello Folks! Welcome to Our Blog.

One of our users recently replaced the toner cartridge in her Ricoh Aficio SPN, it printed afterward, but then yesterday it stopped working, It has four lights lit up solid, a red one for Alert, a blue one for Ready, a red one for Replace Ink cartridge, and another red for Load Paper Tray. I have tried powering it off, waiting a minute, then powering it back on, pressing each button while powering it back on, and holding both buttons while powering it back on.

Also, I've tried taking the ink cartridge out and shaking it, then putting it back in, I've checked all the doors on it and they are closed, I have also searched Google for it and can't find anything.

Every time I power it off, then turn it back on, the lights blink off, it seems to be readying itself, then the lights come back on and it won't work. Sounds like you have a HW failure - You said she just replaced a toner cartridge - Try replacing it again with a different one or the old one that worked even though it's empty - Sometimes if you are using refurbed cartridges you can have this kind of failure.

I have a Ricoh n and if the paper tray has an assigned paper size to it but someone prints a document with a paper size that doesn't match we get the error you are describing. You can either delete the document that is in the printer by resetting the job or use the bypass try to enter the correct paper size. After thinking more about it The fact that all those lights are lit up at the same time probably rules out the incorrect paper size.

Okay, so I tried taking the new cartridge out, turning the power off, then turning it back on without the cartridge, the lights did the same thing, so I'm thinking this issue doesn't have anything to do with the cartridge? As for the hard restart, this printer doesn't have any of those buttons, just the two I posted above, also it doesn't have any sort of display screen, just the four lights.

Only thing else I can think of would be to check the paper path carefully, make sure there are no shreds of paper hiding anywhere. Well, Even though I tried taking the cartridge out, I decided to test a new cartridge anyway, and the same thing happened, all lights solid.

So, I'm positive now, it has nothing to do with the cartridge, it's gotta be some kinda issue with the printer itself. Jordan's Tech Shop is an IT service provider. I know this is old, but for future reference if anyone needs to know. The printer will start blinking alert, turn off printer to reboot and when it comes back up, all should be reset. Read these nextThe lease is up on our Ricoh MP C Before we turn it in I want to wipe all of our user settings off of it - address book, network settings, etc. I was hoping to find a "Cold Reset" like HP printers have instead of deleting every entry, one at a time. Logging in as the admin doesn't seem to show such a menu, and the on-line manual or Google searches have come up empty, too.

I can reset the printer, but that doesn't erase any of the user settings. I'm looking for a cold reset, restore to factory defaults, clear all, whatever term Ricoh uses. Thanks in advance.
